World Model
An AI architecture that builds a complex internal representation of the physical laws, dynamics, and causality of its environment to predict the future.
Think of It Like This
Like a basketball player instantly calculating exactly where the ball will bounce based on their deep intuitive understanding of gravity and physics.
Unlike pure pattern matchers, world models learn 'how things work'. In autonomous driving or video generation (like Sora), the model learns that objects have permanence, gravity pulls things down, and solid objects cannot pass through each other. This allows agents to hallucinate future states in a 'dream' to plan actions safely.
